"Mother Goose and Dr. Suess"
Each year, the Tampa AfricanViolet Society hosts a show and plant sale. The 2011 show theme "Mother Goose and Dr. Suess" is a whimsical look at the fantasy and fairy tale-like beauty of our African Violets.
The show is strictly judged and includes horticulture exhibits and design exhibits. The plants are truly a gourmet feast for the eyes. A visit to our show is a fabulous way to treat yourself. You will see African Violets, trailing African Violets, chimeras, fantasies and other gesneriads; the violet's cousins.
The design classes each have a description based on the theme of the show. Each description is depicted
in the exhibit through interpretive design and include violet blossoms or entire African Violet plants.
In addition we have a sales area where you can purchase African Violets grown by our members.
